Archiving the Present of Solidarity

On July 5, 2025, we hosted our first Kiezwerkstatt workshop at the Buttmann Straßenfest, gathering neighbors under the red umbrella to explore the meaning of Resistance in Wedding.
In a cozy, living-room atmosphere, participants shared memories, stories, and reflections on places of resistance across the neighborhood. These contributions were mapped collectively with stickers, notes, and words on a large neighborhood map, then transformed into zines, collages, and postcards in a hands-on creative session.
The result was a spontaneous pop-up exhibition: part archive, part conversation, wholly Kiez , and the starting point for a living archive of resistance in Wedding, built from neighbors’ stories of struggle, solidarity, and strength.
